It’s been eight days since my last blog post … :( And it’s not from not trying!

I can list at least eight (okay, maybe more like four) things I thought would be worth writing about, but I have to admit it’s been a real struggle to put something coherent down in digital ink, between the flood of emails, work, friend’s graduation festivities, squeezing in time for physical activity and face-to-face contact with friends, food & water, sleep … life basically.

It seems like everyone else is into Web 2.0 and luvin’ it. I know that statement is a gross exaggeration, but it does seem that way with the explosion of user generated content on blogs, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, LibraryThing, YouTube, Twitter, … the list goes on. But where do real people find the time to do all that ??

Well, I stumbled upon this piece written by Sarah Perez today on ReadWriteWeb that gave me hope. Called “Real People Don’t Have Time for Social Media,” Perez points out that social media junkies riding the Web 2.0 wave may not be the norm. Social media involvement takes time, something most people don’t have a lot of. Quoting a post on Museum 2.0, spending 1-5 hours a week still qualifies one as a Web 2.0 participant.

Often I feel that ideas and thoughts come and go faster than I can write them down, before other equally compelling ideas come along to drown the previous ones out. So it feels like my head is in a constant swirl. Perhaps my problem is just a general lack of discipline and coherence … humph!

This same Museum 2.0 post does however recommend that as a content provider, a blogger should aim for a minimum of one post a week, but two or three would be better! In other words, I’m still within guidelines it seems, so there’s yet hope for me …
